KATHARINA MCFARLAND
 

With over 30 years of government service, Katharina (Katrina) McFarland is widely recognized as a leading subject-matter expert on government procurement. In addition to the Defense Intelligence Memorial Foundation, she serves on the board of directors of SAIC, Chairman of the Board of Army Research and Development at the National Academies of Science, Commissioner of the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence, and as a Director on the Procurement Round Table. She was previously the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and acting Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics & Technology). She is an accredited Materials, Mechanical, Civil and Electronics Engineer. She has received an Honorary Doctoral of Engineering from the University of Cranfield, United Kingdom; the Presidential Meritorious Executive Rank Award, the Secretary of Defense Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service Award, the Department of the Navy Civilian Tester of the Year Award, and the Navy and United States Marine Corps Commendation Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service.

BRYAN DYER

CEO Yorktown Systems Group

 

Bryan Dyer founded Yorktown Systems Group in 2008 and continues to serve as Yorktown’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Yorktown is a professional services company providing customized solutions and management capabilities to help Federal and Civil organizations achieve their goals and objectives in the areas of training and education; language and cultural training; operational mission support; modeling and simulation; systems engineering/management analysis; administrative services; integrated logistics; and health and human services.

 

Bryan has led the company to consistent growth while performing successfully in all projects. Since inception, the company has grown from 1 employee to over 750 employees.

 

Bryan has over 35 years of experience in leading large organizations.  He is a retired Army officer with a distinguished career as an infantryman and comptroller.  His assignments in the Army ranged from duty in Special Operations and Airborne units to commanding an infantry battalion. Bryan is a veteran of Operation Just Cause in the Republic of Panama, Operations Desert Shield/Storm in Saudi Arabia and Iraq, the Kosovo Campaign, and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

 

Bryan holds a BBA in Management Information Systems from the University of Georgia and an MBA from Syracuse University. His military awards include Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Global War on Terror Service Medal, the Army Expeditionary Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal, the Kuwait Liberation Medal, the Kosovo Campaign Medal, the NATO Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, and the Combat Infantryman's Badge. He is a recipient of the Order of St Maurice from the National Infantry Association

BRAD SCHWARTZ

Since 2018, Brad has been on sabbatical where he has been managing investments focusing on clean technology and socially responsible companies as well as serving on advisory boards.

Prior to his current role, Brad served as the President and CEO, Blue Canopy, one of the fastest growing private companies in America specializing in Big Data Analytics and Cybersecurity services to Federal and National Security clients. 

As a former Tech Titan and NVTC Board Member, Brad's passion has been focused on growing people and businesses. He has raised hundreds of million dollars in capital, been involved in 16 acquisitions and has been involved in selling 4 companies.  Prior to joining Blue Canopy, Mr. Schwartz was the Group Executive Vice-President/COO for BearingPoint where he managed a $3.4B P&L operating in four regions and 34 countries. Throughout his career at BearingPoint and KPMG Consulting, Mr. Schwartz held several other positions to included EVP, Financial Services and Managing Partner, KPMG Consulting's High Tech and Communications business unit. 

Prior to KPMG Consulting, Mr. Schwartz served as Regional Vice President with Oracle Corporation delivering consulting and integration. Prior to that, Mr. Schwartz served in the military as an RF-4 Aircraft Commander in the United States Air Force.

Mr. Schwartz holds a Master of Business Administration/Management Information Systems from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Bachelor of Science with Honors in Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from Duke University.
